Mira has chosen carefully a unique and special spot to host her 12th annual retreat, the high mountain desert landscape outside of Taos, in northern New Mexico. For centuries artists of all walks of life have drawn deep inspiration from this area, the Land of Enchantment. A landscape infamous for its influence on one’s spirit, a sky that brings expanse into one’s body, and a rugged charm that promotes artistic endeavor.
In this intensive, Mira will take dancers on a journey of the body and mind. Each year the curriculum changes drawing on her innovative games, applied neuroscience for movement, creative exercises, and strong clean technique. Utilizing the expansive landscape, an attitude of play and the unique substance that each dancer brings, Mira weaves a syllabus honoring such themes as the nature of artistry in dance, expressive possibility and how we can use our dance practice to enhance our humanity.
The intensive will take advantage of the breathtaking surroundings to retreat from life into the dance, into yourself, providing an avenue to deepen your understanding of how you function in your body, in your creativity, and how this informs your dance, costuming and music choices.

This intensive is designed to foster great focus and personal reflection. There will be homework given, and plenty of fun evening activities such as art projects, lip-sync parties, stitch n’ bitch sessions, soaking in natural healing hot springs or quiet solitude. Dance technique classes everyday in a beautiful studio with sprung wood floors and mirrors.

8:00 – 9:00 Breakfast
9:30 – 1:00 Morning Technique session
1:00 – 3:30 Lunch and afternoon siesta
3:30 – 6:30 Afternoon session
6:30 – 8:00 Dinner
8:00 – Evening activities (optional)

Rates and Accommodations
The registration rates include:
- Full Accommodation for 8 days (7 nights)
- three healthy delicious meals a day (catering to dietary restrictions)
- over 35 hours of personalized dance instruction
- ground transportation to/from ABQ Albuquerque International Airport to the event space

** If you register at shared room occupancy rates and are attending the retreat by yourself, you will be assigned roommates, if you have a roommate request we will do our best to put you together please have both parties make a note in both your registrations.
Book Your Travel
Participants will fly in and out of Albuquerque International Airport (ABQ). It is a 2.5-hour drive from the airport to the retreat center. Shuttles are provided to the retreat center. If you plan to drive in please let us know if you are willing to pick people up!

For those traveling from afar, we often recommend flying the day before/after and sharing a hotel room with others, this can potentially save you a lot of money in better airfares and allow you to arrive rested and on-time.

CANCELLATIONS:
Should something come up- because life happens!- note that your spot is non-refundable but totally transferable. We will do our best to help you sell your spot, definitely contact us about the wait list, but ultimately it is your responsibility to sell your spot.
